Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was involved in a car accident near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
