The incident led to the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Two men have been charged in connection with a luggage theft where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.

These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.

A three-year-old girl was among those injured in the event. Five people required hospital care and were subsequently released.

The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
