Tributes Flow for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Remain Under Wraps.
Well beyond 14 days subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones continue to honor the couple.
‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director
Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, stated he just recently felt able to express about his personal sorrow.
"Adequate time has gone by that I can finally express my sorrow into words," wrote Elwes, adding that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."
The actor shared archival material from the movie, commenting that he cannot recall "one day without laughter".
"This story is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Things that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes expressed.
He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, saying: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I remember you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."
Martin Scorsese Recalls a Friend and Collaborator
In a distinct piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.
"Immediately, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.
Scorsese pointed out Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the lead role.
"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with his co-stars, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.
Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Restricted
In a new development, a Los Angeles judge ruled to prevent the release of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.
A judicial mandate issued a embargo on the cases to restrict the public release of "all case details, documents, files or images" associated with the active case.
The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a official listing citing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
Response and Criticism
Following the deaths, public personalities shared different comments.
Ex-President Donald Trump commented on the matter, providing controversial statements that were widely condemned by several commentators.
Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his voice to the critics last week. Speaking on his show, Rogan labeled the statements as "disturbing" and suggested they showed a concerning absence of compassion.
Rogan ended by proposing that an associate could have acted when the choice to weigh in on the tragedy was made.
