On Monday, the court learned communication data and evidence recovered from phones logged Ms Wandelt persistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a genetic test throughout that period.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - at the age of three during a family holiday in Portugal - is considered the most publicized child disappearance cases and continues to be unsolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

One voicemail, played in court, documented Ms Wandelt saying: "I know I'm heavy and unattractive like Madeleine was, but I believe what I believe."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's recording stated: "Suppose there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? What happens next? Isn't that significant for you?"

"I do not need money, I possess a living here in Poland, I only wish to understand," she added.

The panel was told that through emails, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a genetic test, sent youth pictures to her phone in a attempt to demonstrate a similarity to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and claimed to have "recollections" from a childhood with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, an investigator with the police force who collated the data, informed the court there "didn't appear to be any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also contacted close associates of the McCanns, based on the call data.

On October 9th, 2024, the father answered a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "the wrong phone."

That day Ms Wandelt left a message on Mrs McCann's recording declaring "I will persist and I will prove my point."

Court proceedings

The court heard Mrs Spragg struck up a connection through digital means with Ms Wandelt prior to assisting her on a trip to the McCanns' residence in Leicestershire in December 2024.

Call logs showed Mrs Spragg had contacted using WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to state the press had depicted Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she deserved to be taken seriously in the time before the visit to the village, the county, in last December.

The court heard correspondence between the two defendants, in that autumn, discussing attempting to acquire Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her bins or from cutlery at a dining venue.

"We must assert ourselves," Mrs Spragg advised Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the appearance to their residence, the defendant transmitted a message which said: "We find ourselves sat adjacent to the McCanns' house with our headlights off like private investigators. I desired to do this with Peter Andrew I didn't imagine I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The proceedings proceeds.
